Dr Margaret Lowenfeld understood children - how
they think, how they play, and how they manage pain
and grief. From these insights she developed her
own original theories and methods. She pioneered
projective play therapy for unhappy or disturbed
children. She invented tools to enable primary school
children to discover for themselves basic mathematical
principles. Her methods do not rely upon words and
language and have been fruitfully employed in cross-cultural
research.
The Dr Margaret Lowenfeld Trust was set up to
maintain and develop her legacy. |
